Kim Smith has spent the past 30 years pioneering cloud and digital innovation to empower people and organizations through nascent technologies and accelerators as they redefine themselves, radically grow, and extend their reach exponentially by re-envisioning customer experiences, employee engagement, operational processes, and business models critical to driving profitability via transformation in the markets they serve. She has defined the go-to-market and portfolio strategy across digital and cloud services for a multitude of technology platforms, industries, and sectors at organizations such as The Bank of New York, Microsoft, Adobe, Capgemini, and IBM as well as a number of startup organizations.

She has led $20B+ P&L businesses and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), global corporate and non-profit boards as well as served as Corporate Social Responsibility Officer overseeing programs, investments, and initiatives to create empowerment through diversity & inclusion, community engagement, and sustainability. She has also sold and delivered over $50B+ in product, consulting, & support engagements, managing small and large implementation teams inclusive of global partnerships with organizations in every sector from Fortune 500 to startup businesses. Ms. Smith joined IBM in 2018 to lead portfolio strategy and growth across IBM Services, Research, and Products while expanding upon strategic partnerships, ecosystem, and ventures for $1B+ new business growth opportunities, most recently, launching IBM Innovation Network, kicking off partnership efforts with Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, and leading IBM’s leadership role in the Ideagen United Nations and European Union cross sector co-innovation initiatives in support of solving for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Prior to joining IBM, Kim served as Capgemini’s Chief Digital Officer, Executive Vice President, and Corporate Social Responsibility Officer overseeing $42+B digital portfolio strategy, go-to-market, digital marketing priorities, digital employee experiences leading product and services IP development of all digital portfolio offerings includes Digital Customer Experience, Digital Manufacturing, Insights & Data, and Digital Innovation industry solutions and services. Additionally, she oversees the North America Applied Digital Innovation Exchange Lab experiences including access to the full suite of Capgemini digital capabilities as well engagement, accelerators, and offerings across social, mobile, analytics, and cloud solutions (SMAC). Ms. Smith served as the Global Head of Digital Services Innovation & Digital Marketing at Adobe launching the world’s first Smart Bag and Immersive Retail Experience as well as developed Adobe’s Digital Services first ever innovation labs incorporating HIVE and KICKBOX IP and programs. She held executive positions over twelve years at Microsoft Corporation leading innovation through product and service marketing, offerings, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, product planning, engineering, strategic & technical consulting, and lifetime loyalty programs for Microsoft Digital and Cloud technologies and industry solutions. She pioneered the first to market Digital Services for BING and Atlas (sold to Facebook in 2013) across Microsoft and Yahoo! digital marketing, media, and advertising platforms. Ms. Smith has received recognition for outstanding performance through marketing, sales & service delivery excellence awards and executive bench programs and led diversity & inclusion leadership councils across multiple Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, she has been recognized by Ideagen for Global Leadership in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and Constellation Research Business Transformation 150 top leaders for her accomplishments in demonstrating the ability to understand of how the business environment is transforming in response to disruptive forces, and actively preparing companies to excel during and after the transformation. She is an active board member of Ideagen Impact & Thought Leadership Council partnering with the United Nations in support of Sustainable Development Goals 2030. She has run Innovation Jams and spoken at the United Nations World Summit on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WSIE) and Ideagen, hosted as executive sponsor for the Tech for Good Summit, Empowering Women & Girls 2030 Summit, and Fellowship at the European Union United States Delegation and United Nations Headquarters.
